Composition

Each one ml contains:

Properties

Toltrazuril is a triazinon derivative. It acts against coccidia of the genus Isospora. It acts against all intracellular development stages of coccidia of the merogony (asexual multiplication) and gamogony (sexual phase). All stages are destroyed, thus the mode of action is coccidiocidal. After oral administration toltrazuril is slowly absorbed with a bioavailability of 70%.  The maximum concentration (Cmax) of toltrazuril is of 14 mg/mL and is obtained after around 30 h. The main metabolite is characterized as toltrazuril sulfone. The elimination of toltrazuril is slow with a half-life elimination time around 3 days. The major route of excretion is via the feces.

Indications

For the prevention of clinical signs of coccidiosis in neonatal piglets on farms with a confirmed history of coccidiosis caused by Isospora suis.

For the prevention of clinical signs of coccidiosis and reduction of coccidia shedding in housed calves replacing cows producing milk for human consumption (dairy cows) on farms with a confirmed history of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis or Eimeria zuernii.

For the prevention of clinical signs of coccidiosis and reduction of coccidia shedding in lambs on farms with a confirmed history of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria crandallis and Eimeria ovinoidalis.

Toltrazuril is an anticoccidlial with activity against Eimeria spp. in poultry:

• Eimeria acervulina, brunetti, maxima, mitis, necatrix and tenella in chickens.
• Eimeria adenoides, galloparonis and meleagrimitis in turkeys.

Target species

Piglets, calves, lambs and poultry (broiler chicken and turkeys).

 

Dosage & Administration

Route of administration: Taken orally as a single oral dose.

Piglets: 0.4 ml of product / kg. b. wt.

Calves: 3.0 ml of product /10 kg. b. wt.

Lambs: 0.4 ml of product / kg. b. wt.

Poultry (broiler chicken and turkeys): 14 ml of product /10 kg. b. wt. for 3-5 days.

Contra – Indications:

Do not use in claves weighing more than 80 Kg bodyweight.

Do not use in fattening units such as veal or beef calves.

Do not permitted for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption.

Do not use in laying hens.

Withdrawal times :

Piglets: Meat and offal 77 days.

Calves: Meat and offal 63 days.

Lambs: Meat and offal 42 days.

Storage conditions

Store at temperature not exceeding 30 C◦, and use immediately after opening.
