COMPOSITION

Each 1 gm contains: Neomycin Sulfate … 700 mg (eq. to neomycin base 490 mg).

 

 PROPERTIES

Neomycin, the drug’s active substance, is amino glycoside class antibiotic characterized by bactericidal action against most gram. Negative pathogens; E. coli sp., Salmonella sp., proetes sp., Haemophillus sp., Klebsiella sp., shigella sp., Pasteurella sp., and gram- positive; staphylococcus sp., streptococcus sp., Corynebacterium sp., Neomycin is poorty absorbed from digestive tract. It remains fully active in stomach and intestines, despite presence of food, pus, necrotic tissuse and changing pH value. Approximately 97% of applied doses is eliminated from organism with faecal matter, Neomycin’s bactericidal action results from bacterial protein synthesis inhibition at ribosomal level. Immunity to neomycin is formed very slowly- in bacterial populations mutants resistant to the drug are rare.

 

 INDICATIONS

Broiler chickens, laying hens, turkeys:

Infection of the intestine with neomycin- susceptible organisms E. coli, Campylobacter and Salmonella.

 DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

Route of administration:

Orally via drinking water

For whole product:

55- 100 gm of product / 3500 kg. b wt (0.5-1 gm/3.5 liter) drinking water. daily for 3-5 days

 

 WARNINGE AND PRECAUTIONS

–That the reason for mixing medicine with other medicine due to avoiding the possibility of blending or union

– When the simultaneous treatment with other drugs here shows the risk of ineffectiveness of neomycin.

– Compaction with bacteriostatic chemotherapeutic should be avoid.

 

 CONTRA-INDICATIONS

-Not use in birds that are hypersensitive to neomycin or other amino glycoside.

-Concomitant treatment with muscle relaxants without dose reduction is contraindicated.

Broiler chickens, laying hens, turkeys:

Edible tissues: 7 days – Egg: 0 days.

 

 STORAGE CONDITIONS

Store at temperature not exceeding 30C, in dry place.
